Primary documents concerning

acquisition of Star water system

This is the resolution passed unanimously by the Town Board on Dec. 13, 1999. 'Aye' votes for Robert N. Funck and Mary Beth Greene-Krafft are recorded on the second page (not shown.)

This letter/contract was sent after Supervisor Randazzo had left office. Helen Bunt had defeated Randazzo in November of 1999, and had taken office in January. She says she does not remember this letter, and that anything like this would have been turned over to Jim Loeb, the town's attorney. It was never signed.

On May 22 of 2000, the town's attorney, Jim Loeb, gave a presentation to the Town Board. This page from the Town Board's meeting minutes summarizes that presentation, in which Loeb emphasizes the value to the town of acquiring the Star water system.

It's not yet clear why the town wasn't able to acquire the wells. They were purchased, instead, by Zigmond "Ziggy" Brach, who then sold them to the United Talmudic Academy of Kiryas Joel in 2005. Above is a record of the property transfer, dated April 15, 2005.

Former supervisor Jim Sollami blamed Supervisor Randazzo for not purchasing the wells in a flyer that he distributed in November of 2005.
